⭐ Classic Italian Lasagna Recipe ⭐

Ingredients:

For the meat sauce:

  • 500g ground beef (or half beef/half pork)

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 carrot, finely chopped

  • 400g canned chopped tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the béchamel sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups milk

  • Salt and nutmeg to taste

Other:

  • Lasagna sheets (pre-cooked or regular)

  • 1–2 cups grated mozzarella or parmesan cheese


Instructions:

1️⃣ Make the meat sauce

  • Heat olive oil in a pan, add onions and garlic, and sauté until soft.

  • Add the carrot and cook for 2–3 minutes.

  • Add ground meat and cook until browned.

  • Stir in the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.

  • Let simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes until thickened.

2️⃣ Make the béchamel sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter.

  • Add flour, whisk well, and cook for 1–2 minutes.

  • Slowly add milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

  • Cook until it thickens. Season with salt and a pinch of nutmeg.

3️⃣ Assemble the lasagna

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.

  • Add a layer of lasagna sheets.

  • Add more meat sauce, then béchamel sauce, and a sprinkle of cheese.

  • Repeat the layers until ingredients are finished, ending with béchamel sauce and cheese on top.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake for about 30–40 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting and servi
