⭐ Classic Italian Lasagna Recipe ⭐
Ingredients:
✅ For the meat sauce:

500g ground beef (or half beef/half pork)

1 onion, finely chopped
-
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 carrot, finely chopped
-
400g canned chopped tomatoes
-
2 tbsp tomato paste
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
1 tsp dried basil
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
✅ For the béchamel sauce:

2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
2 cups milk
-
Salt and nutmeg to taste
✅ Other:
-
Lasagna sheets (pre-cooked or regular)
-
1–2 cups grated mozzarella or parmesan cheese
Instructions:
1️⃣ Make the meat sauce

Heat olive oil in a pan, add onions and garlic, and sauté until soft.

Add the carrot and cook for 2–3 minutes.
-
Add ground meat and cook until browned.
-
Stir in the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.

Let simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes until thickened.
2️⃣ Make the béchamel sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter.

Add flour, whisk well, and cook for 1–2 minutes.

Slowly add milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
-
Cook until it thickens. Season with salt and a pinch of nutmeg.
3️⃣ Assemble the lasagna

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
-
Add a layer of lasagna sheets.
-
Add more meat sauce, then béchamel sauce, and a sprinkle of cheese.
-
Repeat the layers until ingredients are finished, ending with béchamel sauce and cheese on top.
4️⃣ Bake

Bake for about 30–40 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting and servi
