🍕 Italian Beef Pizza Recipe

 

Ingredients

For the dough (or use ready-made pizza base):

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3/4 cup warm water (adjust as needed)

For the beef topping:

  • 200 grams ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Other toppings:

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Sliced bell peppers (red/green/yellow)

  • Sliced black olives

  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)


Instructions

1. Make the dough (if making from scratch):

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5 minutes to activate the yeast.

  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix to form a dough and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  • Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place until doubled in size.

2. Prepare the beef topping:

  • Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.

  • Add the ground beef, cook until browned.

  • Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and chili flakes. Cook until dry and well-cooked. Set aside.

3. Assemble the pizza:

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your preferred thickness.

  • Transfer to a pizza tray. Spread pizza sauce over the base.

  • Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese.

  • Spread the cooked beef evenly.

  • Add bell pepper slices and black olives.

  • Cover with the remaining cheese.

4. Bake:

  • Place in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.

5. Garnish & Serve:

  • Remove from oven, top with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve ho
